APR 18 _ World Heritage Day , also known as International Day for Monuments and Sites , is celebrated annually on April 18th to promote awareness of cultural heritage and to encourage the preservation and protection of important historical landmarks around the world.The idea for World Heritage Day was proposed by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) in 1982 and was later approved by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).The theme for World Heritage Day 2023 is "Heritage Changes" .
